START · KM 0.0
Powiatówka is a game where you drive real local roads in Poland. Every player is in the same world, so at the same time of day everyone passes the same tractors, wedding processions and morning mist over the river. The first route runs from Radzymin to Ostrołęka, and more will follow.
Had you set off when this page opened, you would already have covered 0.000 km.
HOW TO PLAY
The car drives itself. You decide when to turn and where to stop.
Click “Let's drive” and the car picks up speed on its own, up to 90 km/h. No need to hold the accelerator.
On a phone, swipe left or right anywhere on the screen. On a computer, use the arrow keys.
Hold STOP or the space bar when you want a closer look. Let go and the car drives on.
HONK FLASH You can also honk or flash your lights. If you're signed in, other players will see it later in the recording of your drive.
ROUTES
We build every route from OpenStreetMap data and the GUGiK digital terrain model, so bends, hills, junctions and level crossings are where they are in real life. Houses, trees and cars are simplified. The first route runs from Radzymin to Ostrołęka, and the next ones will take you through other regions.
ROUTE 1 · RADZYMIN – OSTROŁĘKA
The route is split into four stages between the larger towns. Pick a stage to see what's on it.
KM 33.3
At kilometre 33 you cross the bridge over the Bug. Then the forests begin, and another wall for painting waits at kilometre 45.
TIME OF DAY
Game time follows the clock in Warsaw. When dusk falls for you, it falls for every other driver too, and lights come on in the windows.
ON THE ROUTE TODAY
Each day one event appears on the route. Every player sees it in the same place at the same time, and at midnight the next one takes over.

By the river the fog gets so thick that you can only see a short stretch of road in front of the bonnet. A little further on it thins out and the countryside comes back.

Three tractors make their way along the route at their own pace. Every player meets them in the same place.

Four cars decorated with ribbons and flowers. As at any Polish wedding, the drivers don't spare the horn.
COLLECTION
Every day a stork, a moose, a combine harvester and a procession turn up in different places along the route. Drive past them while signed in and they go into your collection.
Whoever drives through a village most often in a given week becomes its sołtys, the village mayor, and their nickname hangs under the village sign.
GRAFFITI
Any signed-in player can add their own pixels to a wall. You start with 30 pixels of paint and get one more every 30 seconds. The finished picture is there for everyone who drives past.
Try it here: pick a colour and click the wall. This is only a preview; the real walls are in the game. They are moderated, and breaking the rules can cost you the right to paint.
PLAYERS
Other players' cars drive along the route, honking and flashing their lights just as their drivers did. When you drive signed in, your drive stays in the game too.
Once you choose your county (powiat), your car gets a plate with its code, and the kilometres you drive count towards the county ranking. All 380 counties compete.
There are weekly and all-time rankings, separately for players, countries and counties. You join them after your first completed drive.
